My fishing partner, Eric Thomson, and I have experienced on three different years when we released between 200-300 mature coho off Sekiu, WA on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Casting metal jigs (Crippled Herring, Kandlefish & Sonic BaitFish) produced savage strikes and hours of non-stop action. 2019 and 2020 were atypically poor years. But, the 2021 season saw a tremendous resurgence in coho catches.
